High IQ
One of the most under appreciated facets of an NBA pro is his IQ. The ability to see the floor, throw perfect passes, player positioning and limiting turnovers requires a degree of intelligence. Bogut brings smarts. Averaging 2.2 assists for his career, Bogut can be used as a ball handler from the high post. His ability to see the game in motion is a huge plus as OKC are looking to cut more off-ball.
Averaging just 1.7 turnovers per game over his career, Bogut possesses soft hands and an excellent handle. He was heavily used in Golden State’s offensive sets and fits perfectly in Oklahoma City’s move the ball system.

OKC have a number of experienced campaigners in the squad. However, only Westbrook and Collison have reached the Championship final. While Anthony and PG have reached the conference finals, playing for the championship is a whole different ball-game.
Signing Bogut not only provides leadership but also a championship pedigree to a franchise seeking its first ring.
Bogut is willing to play the bulk of his minutes in the second unit. Raymond Felton and Patterson are the lone vets on a very young bench unit. Collison is sparingly used on court but he provides great mentorship off it.
Adding the Aussie provides young guys an opportunity to learn. Johnson in particular will benefit greatly if Bogut is acquired as he can offer additional insight at the center position.
When the playoffs arrive and things get tight, Bogut can offer the playoff leadership OKC will need.
