Fond Memories of the Palace:
Although I’m sure the new arena is top notch with all the modern day bells and whistles, it has to be said The Palace of Auburn Hills holds a special place in this scribe’s memory. Much like Madison Square Garden or Boston Garden The Palace was among the trio of special venues which delivered the NBA from it’s infancy, through to the current high tech sponsored buildings.
I feel like it would require John Feinstein to convey the unique atmosphere and ambiance of The Palace. Suffice to say, I’ll miss the venue and cherish my memories of the grand building.
Smith checks in:
This episode reviews the Detroit Pistons odd seesaw season. With Smith’s insight we’ll examine how the Pistons vacillated from the East’s upper echelon to fighting for a playoff seed. How Detroit got hamstrung by injuries particularly to a key cog. Turn the spotlight on Andre Drummond’s impressive season and big All-Star diss.
Plus Smith will offer some hot takes on the enigma that is Stan Van Gundy. Then we’ll add it all up to see what that means for the Pistons’ second half. .
Without further adieu – welcome to TIP 3:
