Top 10 buyout candidates for OKC Thunder to consider
By Alex Mcewen
Joe Johnson
Update: since posting news from Adrian Wojnarowski is Johnson will join Rockets
Premise:
Joe Johnson is in his 16th season in the NBA. This is not the same ‘Joe Cool’ or ‘Clutch Joe’ of the past. Witness any game and its clear Johnson is declining rapidly.
Last season Johnson shot 41.1 percent from three-point territory which ranked 20th among 232 qualified players. This year Johnson is shooting 27.4 percent from three-territory which ranks 204th among 210 qualified players.
Bottom line:
There are examples to turn back to like Vince Carter winning a game for the Mavericks and Joe Cool did provide some solid moment last season for the Jazz. But, in my humble opinion I think Oklahoma City could do better on the buyout market than ole Iso Joe. I would pass.
