Joakim Noah

Premise:

Joakim Noah‘s fall from grace has been rapid. Just four years ago Noah finished fourth in MVP voting behind Blake Griffin (third), LeBron James (second), and Kevin Durant (first).

In NBA time that might as well be a decade. This season Noah has played in only seven games, due to various reasons. Because of his lack of playing time there are not many viable stats to use for Joakim.

Bottom line:

The question becomes whether Jo still has the ability to defend and move. His knee injury has everyone questioning that fact. There is no doubt he would bring an intensity level and could provide backup minutes at center. At his best he can defend one through five and is a solid dime disher.  The uncertainty over his health is overriding factor however.

Other than his relationship with Thunder head coach Billy Donovan I see no reason to risk disrupting the tight knit chemistry in the OKC Thunder’s locker room.
