Top 10 buyout candidates for OKC Thunder to consider
By Alex Mcewen
Tyreke Evans
Premise:
Tyreke Evans is a fascinating player he has spent the majority of his career with the Sacramento Kings, the New Orleans Pelicans, then back to the Kings, and currently with the Grizzlies.
Evans is averaging 18.2 points per game. That is fifth among all bench players. He is playing so well that since Memphis is wanting to tank they are considering paying Evans to go away.
This situation is extremely odd and there aren’t certainties he will be waived. The Grizzlies were rumored to be looking for a first round pick for Evans at the deadline. So, if they let him walk for nothing that puts a big black mark on the Grizzlies because surely there were teams willing to give up a young asset, second round pick or combination to acquire Evans.
Bottom line:
The OKC Thunder have an issue with scoring off the bench. Evans would be an immediate resolution to that matter.
Therefore, I would definitely pick Evans up if he ultimately gets released. Evans is essentially Lou Williams with a better three-point shot and a less expensive price tag.
