OKC Thunder Buyout
ORLANDO, FL – FEBRUARY 6: Derrick Rose /

Derrick Rose

Premise:

Derrick Rose and his fall from stardom was an even more rapid and depressing decline than his former teammate Joakim Noah.

Rose won MVP in 2011 (the youngest NBA MVP ever ), he tore his ACL the following playoffs, and he missed the entire 2012-13 season. Since November, 12th, 2013. Rose has suffered not one, not two, not three, but 24 injuries.

In addition to his long list of injuries. Since the start of the 2015-16 season Rose has been on four soon to be five different teams.

Rose was once considered one of the best point guards in the NBA. Not that long ago Thunder Nation it was a serious debate who was better Rose or Westbrook.

Bottom line:

Rose doesn’t really provide what the OKC Thunder are looking for. OKC’s current backup point guard Raymond Felton in the current stages of their respective careers is better than Rose. I would pass.
