OAKLAND, CA - FEBRUARY 6: Steven Adams

A “Promposal” answer three years in the making perfectly explains why OKC Thunder center Steven Adams is the NBA’s most interesting man.

I don’t normally like to make bold statements like the one you’re about to read (okay maybe I do). But when it comes to Steven Adams, no statement can truly be that bold. Especially after his most recent tweet.

The OKC Thunder center agreed to a random fans’ request to attend her Law School Prom…three years too late. This move begs many questions. So many in fact, that I have them listed in order of Most Important to Least Important:

  1. How did the Big Kiwi stumble upon this specific tweet?
  2. What moved him to actually respond? Did he realize the original tweet is from over three years ago?
  3. Who is @itsloyo and why is she so special?
  4. Are there more late responses to come? Did The Big Kiwi just start the next big social media fad?
  5. And finally, does this make Adams the NBA’s most interesting man?

The sole reason for the last question’s placement is because we already know the answer to this question. Yes, Steven Adams truly is the most interesting player in the NBA.

It starts with his origin country. Adams is only the fourth player in NBA history born and raised in New Zealand, but the first to truly become a marquee name. Standing at seven-foot and weighing 255+ pounds, he’s carved a niche as a classic big man in a perimeter players’ world. His game on the court is stellar, but this proclamation truly comes from his actions off the court.

And ultimately that’s what makes Steven Adams so special. Adams doesn’t try to be somebody he isn’t – he hasn’t let the spotlight change his core values. The Big Kiwi is simply out there living his best life and doing what he loves, all while evolving into one of the better centers in the world.

I commend him for his genuineness, and I pray he never changes. Because if he does, we’ll be losing out on the NBA’s most interesting man.
