Yikes. That’s not the performance we needed from the OKC Thunder last night.
Well that wasn’t the performance we were hoping to see. The OKC Thunder came out firing to start the first quarter, but Houston’s relentless attack proved to be too much for OKC last night. In a game that was billed as a gauge for where Oklahoma City stands, the Thunder proved they truly might not be a Playoff team.
They’re now 4-3 since the All-Star Break. All their wins have been single-digit victories (less a 10-point Dallas win) against non-Playoff contenders, while all their losses have been resounding defeats at the hands of legitimate Playoff squads. Times are bleak for us right now Thunder Nation – there’s not much more to say.
Schedule doesn’t make this loss easier
The nightmare continues once you look at the remaining schedule. Excuse the Thunder hater that is ‘BEAL SZN (Mo), but he’s right. Right now it doesn’t look like the Thunder will make the Playoffs. The chemistry has waned on both sides of the floor, especially the defensive end.
Click that blue link please – the frustration around this team isn’t solely with us. Carmelo Anthony is pissed, Steven Adams isn’t taking the blame. Again: yikes.
What missing the Playoffs means for the future
Feeding off of that brings us to the next question: what happens if this team truly fails? Does Paul George even consider re-signing? Will free agents refuse to play with Russell Westbrook? Is Adams going to be traded as Sam Presti decides to re-build?
That’s right folks – we’ve officially hit rock bottom of. And it came with only 16 games left in the regular season.
"The Thunder can still salvage this thing, and they must. The immediate future of the organization depends on it."
Congrats to Carmelo?
Kudos to Carmelo for actually showing fight last night. For that his historic accomplishment will not go unnoticed. Congrats on the top 20 ranking Melo.
