December 7th versus Brooklyn Nets *Game was played in Mexico

This was the first time in the teams 10 year history they participated in the NBA’s global games during the regular season. The team did not fare well south of the border. As Brooklyn had five different players score in double figures led by Caris LeVert.

Paul George and Jerami Grant both missed the game due to minor ailments. Which prompted coach Billy Donovan to play Kyle Singler a season high 23 minutes. Singler’s usage was a cumulative two minutes in the team’s previous 23 games.

Donovan enjoys taking risks with his rotation, however Singler is not a risk, he is a pending disaster. Playing Singler over Josh Huestis was a pivotal mistake which puts this loss fully on coach Donovan.

Singler was not the sole reason for losing to the Nets.  Three-point shooting (7-24, 29.4 percent) coupled with missing nine foul shots also contributed mightily.
