Andre Roberson was and is still a pivotal piece in the OKC Thunder puzzle. In 39 appearances Roberson showcased surprisingly efficient shooting and vital defense.

Andre Roberson‘s season dramatically ended in a tragic manner. Roberson was lost to a ruptured patellar tendon on January 27th. Yet, throughout the rehab process he has maintained the mentality – everything happens for a reason.

Dre’s injury changed the complexity of the team taking them from an elite defense to a comical defense. As Roberson was carted off the floor via stretcher inside the Little Caesars Arena the OKC Thunder’s hopes for contention were carted away as well.

A torn patellar adds yet another ‘what if’, to Oklahoma City’s extensive ‘what if’ resume.

Arguably, Dre’s injury should serve as to why it’s not the best idea to anchor the defense around one player.
