The OKC Thunder released a statement Andre Roberson had a knee scope and is on track to return for training camp.

Between bad news and waiting to hear good news the OKC Thunder haven’t exactly been rolling in the aisles with joy. Not only did the Thunder get ousted in the first round they’ve had to endure constant speculative articles that Paul George will bolt in free agency.

Furthermore, public enemy number one (Kevin Durant) is headed back to the NBA Finals for the second time in as many years. Plus just for good measure, Durant is still kicking his former team while he’s in the catbird seat. Gee KD, forming a super team must leave you with too much idle time on your hands. Would you mind passing the cupcakes please?

Disenchanted star Carmelo Anthony got roasted on Social Media spurring him into responding to the Kyle Korver debate. For the record, Korver although a great shooter doesn’t compare to Anthony’s career numbers. On this Anthony is beyond reproach.

With all this negativity it would be easy to roll up in a ball and expect the worst. Then again, there’s no reason to expect the Thunder offseason to vacillate from the regular season. To wit, OKC fans felt like they were perpetually riding Goliath at Six Flags this year. Climbing upward, dipping downward only to repeat the action over and over. So, why wouldn’t the process continue through the summer months?

What goes down must eventually climb back up:

Giving this presumption a bit of credence is a few cursory moments with some definitive positives mixed in recently. In terms of the former, rumors of Paul George’s agent implying he intends to re-sign  with OKC. Pundits pointing to PG’s fondness for Andre Roberson and feeling his injury came just as the team was ready to ascend.

As for the more definitive positive – that came in the form of a typically brief Sam Presti Press Release. In it the GM advised Roberson underwent a knee scope procedure to relieve swelling and accelerate rehab. More importantly, the confirmation ARob is on pace to be ready to start the 2018-19 season.

"The scope was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthapedic Clinic in Los Angeles, Calif. The elective procedure was done to proactively relieve synovitis, which will enhance rehab activities and accelerate Roberson’s rehab protocol. He remains on pace to return for the start of the 2018-19 season."

Since I’m in the camp things (bad or good) tend to happen in threes I’m wondering what the third positive will be. Finally, let’s set our sights high and will PG’s agent rumor into fact and hope for a hooded man to opt out. Hey, a lady can dream right?
