Carmelo Anthony’s upcoming Jordan Melo 1.5 shoe design will pay homage to the OKC Thunder.
Dipped in Thunder orange with yellow on the heel, Carmelo Anthony’s newest arrival will match well with his uniform. Unlike the previous iterations of the shoe, the “OKC PE” will feature a mesh body with a crocodile texture towards the back and a leather toe.
The new OKC PE follows up Jordan “Melo” Retro 2 (June 9) and is set to release later this summer with a retail price of $190. Other colorways include Hoodie Melo, Green Glow, Atomic Mango, Wolf Grey, Gym Red and University Blue.
While the upcoming kicks focus on his current team, the latest Jordan Retro 2 nods to his time in Denver. With the classic style of Michael Jordan’s second signature shoe, the Melo version is dressed in Nuggets team colors with Anthony’s name written on the sock liner.
Westbrook set to drop new kicks too:
Anthony’s teammate and Jordan athlete Russell Westbrook has also been busy in the shoe game. His “Fashion King” Why Not ZER0.1 dropped Saturday, and the Jordan “Westbrook” 10’s are on deck.
Westbrook’s Fashion King shoes feel professional in its light “tech” grey body with a white heel and blue and orange sole. The shoes also uniquely shine in the dark with a glowing white pattern in the grey area.
Details of the shoe include a black Jumpman logo on the top and the words “Why Not” written on the tongue. The Jordan slogan “Engineered for flight” is also printed vertically on the back. The shoe retails for $125.
The upcoming Jordan Retro 10’s will honor Westbrook’s youth. The white and black foundation will have red and blue trim around the tongue.
Next: Bruce Brown sophomore regression is cause for concern
The patriotic colors match his alma mater Leuzinger High School’s and includes his graduation year on the insoles. The shoe is set to drop next Saturday and will have a $190 price tag.
