2018 NBA Mock Draft first round plus OKC Thunder picks
With Mo Bamba being caught walking around with Mavericks hats and gear it sure seems the big man has made his desires known. Furthermore, I dare you to watch one film clip or interview with Bamba and not come away feeling he’ll be a superstar on and off the court. There is so much to love about this young man; we’re talking quality character to the nth degree.
With Dirk nearing his exit it would be a perfect situation to have Mo learn the ropes from one the game’s All-Time greats (not to mention still the best sound bite and humorist in the NBA). And, come on Rick Carlisle is just too talented to not have the quality to work with.
Bamba is said to be growing exponentially in his offense, getting up perimeter shots successfully which has garnered him the comparison to Rudy Gobert with an offensive tool kit.

Team needs:
Although the Mavericks need bigs much of what they truly need will depend on what occurs with the numerous free agents on the roster. That said, it seems like the Mavs will let both Noel and McDermott walk creating even more emphasis on the need for big men.
Overall, the Mavs need to cover the spectrum and Rick Carlisle needs starting big men and backcourt depth.
Free Agents:
- Seth Curry (UFA)
- Yogi Ferrell (RFA)
- Doug McDermott (RFA)
- Aaron Harrison (RFA)
- Salah Mejri (RFA)
- Nerlens Noel (UFA)
- Dirk Nowitzki (UFA – Team Option)
- Note: Wesley Matthews opted into his contract
