After bouncing around the league his first four seasons in the NBA, Shane Larkin looks for a long-term contract this NBA free agency period.

When Shane Larkin was drafted 18th overall in 2013 by Atlanta, he did so with a bright future ahead of him. Since then, Larkin played for four different teams over the past four years and is now reportedly looking for a place to settle down.

Earning enough respect in the league to get a long-term contract, however, is difficult. Larkin came into the league with a lot of promise, but failed to work his way into a starting rotation.

Things went from bad to worse for Larkin last year, as his season averages went down across the board with the Celtics. And in his first return to the playoffs since his rookie season, Larkin sprained his shoulder in a collision with Joel Embiid.

Specifics:

  • Height: 5-11
  • Position: Point Gaurd
  • Age: 25
  • Experience: 4-years
  • Type of free agent: Unrestricted
  • Hometown: Cincinnati, OH.
  • College: Miami (FL.)
  • Previous salary: $1.52 million

Despite struggling to gain momentum in the league, Larkin could fetch a decent contract given his age. Just because he hasn’t done much in the NBA yet, doesn’t mean he isn’t capable. So rolling the dice on Larkin for a reasonable price might sound like a good idea to some organizations.
