Justise Winslow

More from Thunderous Intentions

Justise Winslow has the potential to be the best acquisition the OKC Thunder could make, both for their short-term goals and long-term plans. With his hard-nose defense and sneakily versatile offensive game, he’s already proved he can be a key player on a winning team and produce in the playoffs.

In the short-term view, the Thunder could truly use a player like him. After Andre Roberson went down with an injury at the beginning of the year, the Thunder looked completely lost defensively.

But, by adding Winslow, OKC would be adding a young, athletic defender who can guard multiple positions and contribute to the team from day one.

But. his potential would give OKC an interesting look for the future. It’s no secret that he’s been one of the least efficient shooters in the NBA since he entered it, but he showed progress last year, knocking down 38 percent of his three’s and finally looking like the player he was drafted to be. If he can continue to progress offensively, he could be a star-level player in the Association.
