The Carmelo Anthony – OKC Thunder saga lives another day.

While Carmelo Anthony’s camp will happily accept a buy-out, Sam Presti is doing all he can to trade the former All Star. One club with mountains of cap space is the Atlanta Hawks.

Its Day 13 of free agency and Carmelo Anthony remains a member of the OKC Thunder. The All Star forward gave the green light for Oklahoma City to pursue a trade provided a buy-out would closely follow. There is little doubt GM Sam Presti is working the phone lines to get something back in return.

Anthony’s $27.9-million-dollar deal in a tight market place is a tough pill to swallow. Only the Chicago Bulls, Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks possess the necessary cap room to make a deal work.

In a recent interview with the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Hawks GM Travis Schlenk publicly expressed his desire to absorb bad contracts in exchange for future assets.

"We’ll probably look to carry 14 guys just so we have some flexibility with our space to take on contracts if we need to be. The majority for free agency for us is just going to be taking on contracts to gather assets if we get a player we like"

Moving Anthony’s contract won’t be easy. However with Atlanta open for business, Oklahoma City must  explore every avenue possible to move him.

Lets take a look at four possible trades.
