When the Schorder-Anthony trade took place, one player lost in the midst of it all was Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot. The 23-year old guard out of France is an interesting prospect considering he has all the tools to be a solid NBA wing.
At 6’7, 205 pounds and 6’11 wingspan, he fits the typical Presti mold of long, athletic guards who shoot inconsistently from deep. However, TLC has 26 career starts to his name immediately catapulting him above guys like Terrance Ferguson and rookie Hamidou Diallo.
TLC struggled with confidence in Philadelphia. He cited fear of being pulled out of the game if he made mistakes and sporadic play as two primary factors for his inconsistent play.
One of his best games as a pro, TLC dropped 20 points on the Memphis Grizzlies last year.
The 76ers grew frustrated with his inconsistent play and were unwilling to grow his talents given the rapid rise of franchise centerpieces Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. But luckily, TLC is more than happy to join the Thunder and is excited at the opportunity.
Oklahoma City are short on wings and acquiring a former first round pick (24th in 2016) for nothing is a great pick up. While he only averaged 5.8 points, 1.4. rebounds, 1.1 assists on 37.5 percent shooting and 33.5 percent from range TLC has shown flashes of ability.
His acquisition could be one of the sneaky good moves that has largely gone unnoticed. Its a nice flier on a player with upside.
