This deal is slightly less ideal given Marquese Chriss has yet to show any remnants of a three point shot. In this trade, Oklahoma City receive a defensive minded power forward whose excellent guarding the perimeter and shows flashes of being a great shot blocker.

The former eighth overall selection in the 2016 draft shot a horrendous 29.5 percent from deep last year, regressing from 32.5 percent as a rookie.

The OKC Thunder love defensive forwards who struggle shooting the rock however, Chriss did shoot 36 percent from three in college. At 6’10 with a 7’1 wingspan, he is a strong defender whose capable of guarding one through four thanks to his athleticism and quickness.

OKC acquire $1 million in additional salary and will also incur roughly $5 million in luxury tax prior to moving Kyle Singler. Oklahoma City will also find themselves in familiar territory in entering pre-season with a full roster. Presti has elected to fill just 14 spots for future flexibility at the deadline over the past few seasons. This trade pushes the Thunder to 16 guaranteed contracts.

Philly receive Abrines without Singler. One assumes OKC will want a second round pick to balance the deal while Phoenix receive Bayless for the reasons discussed earlier.
