With the NBA announcing the OKC Thunder will play on Christmas day for the ninth consecutive year, here’s a ranking of the best holiday-themed jerseys.

After eight consecutive years of playing on Christmas day, the OKC Thunder will again suit up on December 25 for a rematch against the Houston Rockets. Oklahoma City came out on top last year 112-107, but unfortunately weren’t sporting holiday-themed jerseys.

With all of the drama both teams have been through this off season, it’s going to be a good match up regardless. But for the sake of fashion fans, we hope the players look the part and dress up for the occasion.

In honor of the upcoming festivities, TI takes a walk down memory lane to remember the best Christmas day jerseys.

No. five: 2012

Depending on your sense of fashion, the Thunder have never had the most stylish uniforms. For the most part, the OKC jerseys have been simple and cut-and-dry throughout the years. This was no different in the team’s first Christmas day game in 2012.

The all-blue base with orange outline wasn’t repulsive by any means, but didn’t do much to push the envelope. Another issue was the lettering on the jersey being difficult to read from a distance. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible design, but it certainly left something to be desired.

Of course, the Thunder organization have their hands tied when it comes to Christmas-themed jerseys, as all teams wear the same design. However, the Heat seemed to be the better looking team on the court that day. It also helps when you win, which is what Miami did 103-97.
