Fast forward two years, and the league is doing something more creative than making the uniforms one solid color. In the 2014 Christmas day game, teams sported uniforms similar in style to the standard jerseys, but with a unique twist.

In lieu of the team name on the front and the players’ last names on the back of the jersey, the team logo went on the front and the players’ first names appeared under the number on the back.

It was a fun twist on a solid classic, but lacked the Christmas spirit we see from later holiday iterations.
