Steven Adams has a huge family.

You probably know Steven Adams is from New Zealand, but did you know he has 17 siblings? Perhaps that’s why Adams is the best sound bite in the business or why he excels at being a teammate.

Having to fight to get noticed in his own family probably lended itself to Adams learning a few tricks about working in large groups early. According to his autobiography, Steven is the youngest of 18 children born to his father, Sid Adams.

Adams told ESPN:

"“My brothers bullied me so I cried a lot as a kid
It was the only defense I had. Telling them to stop wouldn’t work. The crying would bring my dad. Dad was my cavalry.”"

An Englishman and former member of the Royal Navy, Sid was in his 60s by the time Steven was born, and died when Steven was only 13.

Not surprisingly the Adams family is massive in number and size. Like Steven, all the Adams children are huge. In fact, his brothers average 6 ft 9 in, and his sister’s average 6 ft.
