As if he isn’t busy enough on the court, Russell Westbrook also know show to stay busy off of it.

Through the Russell Westbrook Why Not? Foundation, Westbrook has launched several initiatives around Oklahoma City (and the world).

According to the foundation’s website:

"The mission of the Russell Westbrook Why Not? Foundation is to inspire the lives of children, empower them to ask “Why Not?” and teach them to never give up. The foundation works to help children that are facing hardships of any kind and when faced with that adversity fight to succeed and to never give up."

The foundation was founded in 2012, and has provided support through numerous education and family service programs. Events include Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, charity bowling events, and basketball camps.

Additionally, Westbrook has implemented numerous Russell’s Reading Rooms around Oklahoma City. These libraries were built in schools located in less privileged areas of the community, and aim to inspire literacy and education amongst children.
