How the OKC Thunder figure in the mix:

In terms of the 2018 NBA Rookie survey the OKC Thunder rookies weren’t expected to be in the mix given how late they were selected.

However, OKC rookie Hamidou Diallo got some attention in the polls in three of the seven questions. His first entry occurred on biggest steal (where prospect was selected) although he didn’t make the top three ranking. No doubt his peers recognized his 45th selection as low after facing him at the Vegas Summer League Tournament.

Diallo received votes and ranked among the top three for most athletic. Tying for second most votes with the Wolves Josh Okogie and  Spurs Lonnie Walker IV. All three received 15 percent of the vote.

The third category Diallo registered was best defender where he got a mention along with eight others (not including the six ranked players).

In terms of the NBA Rookie Survey it offers categories such as Rookie of the Year, best career, biggest steal, most athletic and the best in each of shooting, defending and playmaking categories.  To view it in it’s entirety visit the NBA official web page or click here.

With that, let’s dive into three keys to watch for from this 2018 rookie class.
