No. 12: KD on Hibbert
Watching this dunk now, it’s not really surprising that Durant dunked Hibbert off the face of the earth. After all, the last few years for Hibbert have been nothing if not forgettable as the NBA has totally passed him by.
But it’s worth remembering that at this time, Roy Hibbert was one of the best rim protectors in the league. Remember that? It feels like a century ago that Hibbert was one of the best big men in the league and potentially a second star next to Paul George who could anchor an elite defense.
It’s like if someone dunked on Rudy Gobert in this way. And people have obviously dunked on Gobert before, but someone absolutely owning him like this would be at least a little weird to see.
