Top 10 OKC Thunder playoff games – Reminiscing the good times
By Alex Mcewen
Number 2: Game 5 vs. Utah Jazz
Call it recency bias, but this was a special game, hence why it ranks so high on the list. The Game captured the Thunder’s season in a nutshell, by featuring excitement, disappointment, theatrics, a comeback, and a lot of Westbrook and Paul George.
George and Westbrook received the credit for executing the comeback. Backup point guard Raymond Felton deserves equal credit because he sparked the rally at halftime. By posing a straightforward question “Do you want it”?
Game Specifics
- When: April 25, 2018
- Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
- Opponent: Utah Jaz
- Final score: 107-99, Thunder win
The Thunder answered Felton’s question with a definitive yes. Oklahoma City put together a 25-point comeback, the largest in franchise history, regular or post-season.
Westbrook has played 393 games inside the Peake, Game 5 in the 2018 playoffs was possibly his most poised performance. The way Russ dictated the tempo in the second half could have rivaled any floor general.
Playoff P made an appearance, scoring 34-points, grabbing eight rebounds, while holding Joe Ingles to three points. Playoff P’s performance took a toll on his health though, as PG was ineffective in Game 6.
But for one brief shining moment, Thunder Nation witnessed what could have been with the 2017-18 iteration of the OKC Thunder.
