October 25: Boston Celtics at OKC

If you watched the series against the Boston Celtics last year, you most likely have the results seared into your mind. After a defeat in both of the two games games, with one being a loss by a point, the Thunder are definitely going to be seeking to beat the Celtics this year.

On the Celtics, we will be seeing the return of Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. Even without these two starters, the Celtics made a deep playoff run and eventually lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a seven game series during the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston are a squad who compete in every game so expect a difficult season series. With Irving and Hayward on the court and an equally healthy team, the Boston Celtics could potentially be considered the “Golden State” of the East.

At the same time, we can’t automatically believe that Irving and Hayward would be playing at their full capacity. Depending on the injury, some players never regain their previous prowess.

Regardless, the match-up should be one of the better ones in the season. The Thunder will no doubt be looking to grab a win after going 0-2 last year.
