January 2: OKC at Los Angeles Lakers
With LeBron James moving from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Los Angeles Lakers, it brings yet another opponent the Thunder has to overcome in the Western Conference. While many are skeptical that the Lakers could make a run to the finals, and for good reasons, they still pose as a threat to the Thunder’s success in the post-season, should they make it there.

While the Lakers did not make the post-season, they were a tough opponent for the Thunder last season, tying the series 2-2. This could mean trouble for OKC, as the Lakers are now a team that could very well make the playoffs.
With the acquisition of LeBron James, Lance Stephenson, Rajon Rondo and many others, this is a team that could potentially set the wheels in motion for another Lakers championship down the road.
It will also be an interesting game due to the events this summer with Paul George and the Lakers. George decided to quickly to sign back with the Thunder once free agency arrived, electing to not offer the Lakers the courtesy of a face to face.
After believing that George was headed to LA due to past comments and rumors, many Lakers fans are disappointed or frustrated with George’s decision.
Seeing the Thunder and the Lakers face off this season will be a treat and is personally one of my most anticipated games.
