The OKC Thunder 30 for 30 head to Toronto to analyze veteran wing C.J. Miles.

If the OKC Thunder are looking for pure shooters from the outside making a trip to Toronto to analyze C.J. Miles is a good place to start. Playing on his fourth franchise in 13 years, Miles has found himself a home in Toronto as the teams designated sniper.

The veteran had a solid year in the north averaging 10 points, 2.2 rebounds in 19 minutes per game while shooting 38 percent from the field, 36 percent from three and 85 percent from the line. Miles’ presence on the floor provided spacing for All Stars DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry to operate in isolation which contributed to the Raptors possessing one of the league top offenses last year. While his 3-point percentage lies at league average, his willingness to let it fly kept defenses on tilt.

Entering the 2018-19 season, the Raptors have a wing problem. Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, O.G. Anunoby, Norman Powell and Miles are all competing for minutes on the wing while point guards Lowry, Fred VanVleet and Delon Wright slid to the two spot for large stretches last season. Assuming Leonard and Green are starting, Miles is essentially competing for minutes with five other players. Additionally, Anonuby appears to be ahead of Miles in the rotation thus where Miles falls in the rotation is unknown.

Oklahoma City are short of shooters from the outside and finding someone to support Paul George when he rests is priority. Should Miles find himself on the outside looking in, the Thunder would be wise to make a play for the wiley veteran.

But how high can Miles increase OKC’s ceiling? Lets take a look.
