In the news features OKC Thunder top 10 villains and benches plus Stephen Dolan’s theory Andre Roberson hired shooting coach Chris Matthews confirmed.
It seems like an eternity since the OKC Thunder were knocked out in the playoffs and organized ball was available. With the OKC Thunder training camp creeping close fans don’t have much longer to wait.
In the interim the Thunderous Intentions team dove into the past with a view to the top 10 villains and bench units over the franchise’s first decade. Also, T.I. writer Stephen Dolan investigated a hunch he had and not only did it prove accurate, but Thunder fans should be thrilled if the results pay off.
OKC Thunder top 10 villains:
More from Thunderous Intentions
- Stealing one player from every Southwest Division team for the OKC Thunder
- Should the OKC Thunder chase after a disgruntled hometown hero?
- 3 OKC Thunder players who can step up in Aleksej Pokusevski’s absence
- Aleksej Pokusevski sidelined approximately 6 weeks with ankle injury
- Damian Lillard does not fit with the OKC Thunder
When Austin Sternlicht presented this idea I was excited to see who would make his final cut. All Thunder fans can name their personal list of villains and there are inevitably a handful of common choices. With that in mind I was keen to see where my personal picks would rank on Austin’s list.
Funny enough when editing I realized I was nodding my head while reading. And, without spoiling the list I’ll just say I am in full agreement with the top ranked villain. In fact, a particular incident with No. 1 on this list led to a certain BBoy and I having quite a debate over his goonish play.
As mentioned – I don’t want to spoil the fun, so check out the article and let us know in the comments section your thoughts.
OKC Thunder top 10 bench units:
Rylan Styles locked himself in the film room and poured over statistics to put each reserve unit in OKC Thunder history into a ranking order. Examine Styles list and visit the comments sections to share your memories of your favorite reserve units, contributions, specific stand out moments and if you agree on the ranking.
"So how will these rankings work? The Starting lineups will be determined by which 5 players have the most games started. From there, we have our bench and can compare them based on all phases of the game of basketball, as well as intangibles. The Oklahoma City Thunder have a ten year history, so this article will cover all ten iterations of the Thunder bench. As well as forecast where the 2018-19 bench will fall into these rankings."
Stephen Dolan theory proven correct:
"Don’t say we didn’t warn you. The shooting coach Chris Matthews, aka Lethal Shooter, has confirmed that he is, indeed, attempting to heal the malady that is Andre Roberson’s shooting. While we were already celebrating inwardly here at Thunderous Intentions, now we can take our celebrations to the street."
Hat tip to Stephen Dolan who investigated his theory that Andre Roberson was working with Chris Matthews aka Lethal Shooter. Roberson’s issues at the free throw line have been a punch line for squads and you have to wonder how much that affected his confidence. The good news is Roberson isn’t resting on his laurels as Dolan confirmed.
Scanning the league consider how few truly great two-way players there are. Dre is a top tier defender, but no where near average offensively. So, imagine if Roberson developed something close to league average shooting efficiency at the line, field and perimeter. He’d become as Dolan notes a border line All-Star.
Playing alongside Westbrook, George and Adams he’ll never be the primary scorer. Still, teams particularly in the offseason will key in on Dre. So, if he could keep teams honest on offense we’re talking a whole new ball game.
Again, big hat tip to Stephen Dolan for piecing together the bread crumbs of this puzzle. To read his initial article which presents why he saw this coming click here.
