In the first edition of OKC Thunder Sunday Social, TI examines the best social media posts from the first week of training camp and a possible signing hint.
Social media can be one of the most exciting ways to stay connected to the OKC Thunder, or any professional sports team. Whether it’s breaking news, an injury update, or the hottest highlight, odds are high it can be found on a social media feed.
The hashtag ‘NBA Twitter’ has become an online community for hoop heads all around the world, the term has even been embraced by Twitter. The social media giant gave the hashtag it’s very own emoticon, more commonly known as an emoji last season.
The Oklahoma City Thunder were busy last week, the team held Media Day, opened training camp, and there was a potential hint on Jamal Crawford’s free agency status.
Ready for a close-up?
The Thunder shared the above photos of Andre Roberson and Steven Adams on their Instagram account. OKC shared pictures of each player on the roster, the pictures were taken on Media Day and captured by photographer Jeremy Cowart.
A glimpse inside practice
Probably the most I’ve seen from Andre Roberson in post-practice all week. Doesn’t mean he hasn’t been doing more, but jumping off that left leg, taking contact from assistants. pic.twitter.com/auYm7PTVHl

Both clips of Roberson are encouraging, yet they display just how distant a return could be for the defensive stopper. Roberson does not look 100 percent, and he seems hesitant with his left leg. Although A-Rob cannot fully participate in training camp, the fact he was working with Dennis Schröder and building chemistry could go a long way once he is cleared to return.
Could Crawford be OKC bound?
This is Westbrook’s friend. Look who he RT’d a couple days ago... 🧐 pic.twitter.com/TjfA8VJAay

On ESPN’s the Jump, Rachel Nichols often plays a game called something or nothing, the above tweet should definitely be classified as something.
Demetrius Deason is one of few people in Westbrook’s documented small inner circle. Deason has hosted a comedy show with Westbrook the past few October’s in Oklahoma City, prior to the NBA season kicking off.
Thunder is currently at 14 guaranteed contracts. Billy Donovan today said "right now we’re going with what we have," when asked if 15th player will be added before regular season. "That would be something that if Sam decided to do that, we’d probably talk about that.”

Deason and company also join Westbrook each summer for a guys week in San Diego, California. Therefore, it is plausible Deason could have an inside scoop about J Crossover joining the Thunder. It’s also feasible Deason simply saw Crawford’s tweet, liked the quote and retweeted it.
Taking into account how coy Billy Donovan was when asked about adding a 15th man; until OKC fills the final roster spot or Crawford signs a deal elsewhere, his status is worth monitoring.
