This summer, Alex Abrines got married to girlfriend, Caria. He also took time to host camps in his home town of Palma de Mallorca, Spain. In an interview on the Thunder website with OKC Thunder reporter Nick Gallo, Abrines said he has been working on his conditioning. That has been a focal point for the entire OKC team.

He said he wants to be able to get down the floor and run with Russell Westbrook and Dennis Schroder. That is something Billy Donovan and Sam Presti have both preached, that this team needs to be faster. Abrines ended last season on a high note. A great playoff series on both sides of the floor against the Jazz.

Alex Abrines wants to be more than just a shooter, he told Nick Gallo this:

“You can focus on certain points of your game. (I’ll) especially keep improving on defense and then just develop my offensive game,” Abrines noted. “Not just being a shooter, trying to put the ball on the floor, playing some big roles and being able to create for my teammates.

He hopes to carry that into next season with some consistency, something he lacked a year ago.

Alex Abrines also had a documentary debut this week, and it gives a little more detail on his life, and his summer. Many Thunder fans hope that a refocused Alex Abrines comes out of summer break hot out of the gates and never cools off.

Abrines entered Training Camp and dealt with back spasms which sidelined him for the teams Blue and White scrimmage Sunday.
