OKC Thunder – Topic: Thunder podcast, season preview, predictions, and forecast of real games
In this episode of Topic: Thunder, we have actual, real-life, honest to goodness OKC Thunder games to preview. And doing one better, we go ahead and preview the rest of the league, too.
Oh boy, oh boy. The long journey through the desert that is the (actually pretty enjoyable) NBA summer is almost over. It’s been a long trip, and the excitement surrounding this year’s OKC Thunder team has, if anything, made that wait seem all the more lengthy.
Dennis Schröder has arrived on the scene, replacing the oft-and-properly-maligned Carmelo Anthony. The Thunder have added depth on the wings – if not in quality, at least in possibility. Nerlens Noel apparently chose the Thunder over other more lucrative options, despite no promises of playing time (although that last one is probably just because Paul George is really, really cool).
The seasons of inconvenience and uncertainty have finally passed. The Thunder can finally relax and play basketball. They can finally stop worrying about who will leave. They can finally roar from the silence. And we, as fans, can finally actually purely enjoy them again.

So, with that in mind, and with eminent pressure finally out of mind, we at Topic: Thunder preview the season this week. We go through each division (other than the Northwest, which we covered last week). We make predictions on the Thunder’s season and on the league-wide awards. And we predict the weekly Thunder record for the first time (stay tuned for the consequences for the loser at season’s end).
Most importantly, though, we forecast actual regular season games. It’s finally here, and we’ll be here with you all season. Thunder Up.
