To add insult to injury, it does not help that Kevin Durant just had an incredible performance in the OKC Thunder opening night loss. Durant was the teams second leading scorer, with 27 points on 42 percent shooting from the floor.
Surprisingly, Durant went 0-for-5 from deep. KD also posted eight rebounds, and six assists. Defensively KD had a block and a steal including an impressive strip of Steven Adams when the two got matched up in the post early in the game.
Putting a bow on the opening night loss
The OKC Thunder had an interesting game to say the least. It was a roller coaster of emotions for Thunder fans. The boys in blue played dreadful in the first half, but rallied in the second half.
Given the context of no Russell Westbrook, No Andre Roberson, a banged up Steven Adams, and only one good half from Paul George it is pretty impressive that the Thunder were able to keep it this close.

Up next for the Thunder, they stay in California to take on the Clippers on Friday. Following that contest they will have their home opener against the Kings on Sunday. The Thunder should end this week 2-1, so the opening night loss offers no need to hit the panic button.
