OKC Thunder use a huge 2nd quarter to push past the reeling Washington Wizards.
In OKC Thunder’s 2016-2017 season, Russell Westbrook was left alone after Kevin Durant chose to bolt for Golden State. Many expected him to win MVP that year and he didn’t disappoint.
Fast Forward to present day. The OKC Thunder has possibly the most complete roster since it’s inception. Paul George provides extra star power. Stevens Adams and Dennis Schröder are game changers. And yet Russell Westbrook may be playing the best of his career.
Two huge bullets in every Westbrook haters chamber. Shot selection and defense. He shot 0-1 from deep in his 26 minutes of action, and his shot selection (along with the rest of the teams) has been much improved as of late.
His defense? Russdiculous.
With 4 steals tonight that brings his season total to 14. Good for 2.3 steals per game. That’s .2 more than his career high 2.1.

All this while still passing the ball efficiently and effectively. Averaging 8.2 assists per game, while dropping 12 dimes tonight to just one turnover.
Playing against a fellow All-Star in John Wall, who had 19 points and 9 assists himself. Russell Westbrook still was able to outplay him in 8 less minutes of action.
Thats right FOR ONCE we were able to hold a lead and rest our starters in the fourth quarter.
Paul George had 17 points on 12 shots, shooting 50% including 4-6 from deep. Steven Adams had 15 points while missing just one shot. Dennis Schröder dripped 16-6-5 off the bench. Jerami Grant had 22 points on 9-11 shooting. Yet, Despite his help this year compared to 2017, Russell Westbrook is playing like an MVP out there this season.
It was on full display in the Thunder victory.
