Entering his age 30 season, Westbrook is in midst of his prime and has experienced the high’s and lows over the course of his career. After winning multiple Western Conference Finals titles, a trip to the NBA Finals, one scoring title and an MVP, the one thing that eludes Russ is a championship ring. Westbrook is driven to win a title before he retires and must do everything he can to make that dream a reality.
Throughout each year, the Brodie has made adjustments to his game to improve his overall play with a roster that has undergone reconstruction since Durant’s departure. This season, Westbrook has shown a willingness to, play off the ball more, get out in transition and run the open court.
Westbrook’s alley-oop from Terrance Ferguson against the Los Angeles Clippers was a throwback to 2011-12.
In order for Oklahoma City to be successful, they need Russ to be at his best in all facets of the game. He is a good defender when engaged and if he is able to maintain his focus on the offensive end, picking his spots and sticking to his strengths, he will propel OKC into championship consideration.
It’s still early in the season and there are 74 more games to go. The Brodie has made a strong start to the year.
Lets see if he can maintain it.
