The OKC Thunder finished a short but successful road trip pounding the Washington Wizards 134-111 on the second night of a back to back.

After pounding the Washington Wizards 134-111 in its last outing, the OKC Thunder reached 500 for the first time. Since its 0-4 start to the season, Oklahoma City have reeled off four straight victories and have done so in spectacular fashion.

With five players in double digits lead by Russell Westbrook‘s 23 points (10-16 from the field, 0-1 3-point, 3-4 free throws), the Thunder used a 44-point second quarter to build a 29-point lead going into half-time. The second quarter blitz saw OKC shoot 65.2 percent from the field, 44.4 percent from three and 76.9 from the stripe while collecting five steals and forcing eight Washington turnovers.

The Wizards made a small run in the third quarter to cut the lead to 19 but Thunder guard Dennis Schroder controlled the clock and scored key buckets to push lead back out to 25 by the quarter’s end. From that point on, Oklahoma City were in cruise control and used steady play to see out the win.

Oklahoma City finished the game shooting a season best 57 percent from the field, 46.9 percent from three and 80.8 percent from the line.

The Thunder were dominant all night long but there were a number of surprise categories OKC excelled in.

Lets take a closer look.
