Player Grades
After being named Western Conference Player of the Week earlier today, Westbrook had another stellar game. The 6’3 guard from UCLA posted 17 points on 37 percent shooting with seven rebounds and nine assists. Westbrook also had a steal tonight and went 5-for-8 from the line. He was plus-11 on the night.
Yet, what occurred during the third quarter to Westbrook was without doubt the story of the game. At 4:25 the former-MVP left with what looks to be a serious injury.
The team is calling it a left ankle sprain and x-rays were negative.
After a great night in D.C. Friday, Terrance Ferguson put together a…solid game. The second-year guard did not do anything jaw-dropping–unless you consider him taking-and-making a jaw dropping dunk. And, he also did nothing to enrage the Thunder faithful who have been barking for Hamidou Diallo to start.
Ferguson posted 5 points, and pick pocketed Pelicans twice.
Paul George led the Thunder in scoring tonight, and he even took over the game in some spots. That is something Thunder fans waited to see all year long. The “dead foot” did not seem to bother him as much tonight when he banged in four triples at a 40 percent clip. PG13 turned in a 23 point effort in 37 minutes, with eight assists and six rebounds. As always, the Thunder wing man was active defensively with four steals.
Jerami Grant posted 13 points, with some fancy finishes at the rim. Grant got two steals, a block, and five defensive rebounds. A ho-hum kind of game for Grant, nothing spectacular and nothing terrible with a lot of solid play in-between.
Steven Adams looked the way Steven Adams should. That is something rare this year. The big man has dealt with a few different injuries that have contributed to his slow start to the 2018-19 campaign. Adams poured in 18 points and hauled down 8 rebounds.
