OKC Thunder use gritty defense to extend their winning streak to seven in convincing fashion over the Houston Rockets.
In my best Narrator voice: What if I told you that tonight the OKC Thunder would be without both Andre Roberson and Russell Westbrook tonight? What if I told you the Houston Rockets would have a healthy Chris Paul, James Harden, and Clint Capela? What if I told you the Thunder would shoot a 44/24/70 split?
There is absolutely no way that the Thunder make the game close, let alone win right? Well turns out our best judgement was the wrong judgement.
Not only do the Thunder win, not only they do it without their star player and best defender, not only do they push their win streak to seven. They demolished a team that pushed the Golden State Warriors to seven games in the Western Conference Finals a year prior.

Defeating the Rockets would be tough but the Thunder were able to accomplish it with what is almost a lost art in today’s league; defense.
Eleven team steals (six of which belong to Paul George), four team blocks (three of which were credited to Nerlens Noel), and fifty two rebounds (12 of which belong to Steven Adams) and just overall not making anything easy for the Rockets were the key to this game.
It was a convincing victory for the Thunder who have now won seven straight games (I know I said it already, I’m just hyped!) and go into what one might call “cupcake” part of their schedule.
Their next five games are at Dallas, Suns at home, Knicks at home, at Suns, at Kings before we face the night Warriors once again in Oracle Arena. If the Thunder show up like they did tonight, they could be on a 12 game win streak going into the matchup with OKC’s favorite snake; Kevin Durant.
