OKC Thunder Social Roundup gathers the best social media posts from various platforms and compiles them in one place. This week the main focus is Halloween.
It was another busy week for the OKC Thunder, as the team went on their second road trip of the season, played their first back-to-back, tied or set several team records, Patrick Patterson hosted his second movie screening of the season, and last, but not the least, it was Halloween.
Oklahoma City’s week started by seeking revenge against the LA Clippers. In the first half, the Clippers were clicking on all cylinders and getting to the foul line at will. LA shot a whopping 24 free throws in the first half against the Thunder.
The Thunder appeared to be on their way to their fifth loss in six outings. Then the third quarter happened (more on the third below).

NBA officials need to getv on the same page
Now, the Clippers are getting techs for reacting to fouls. Avery Bradley gets a tech, and Doc Rivers turns to the crowd and says "You were right."

Doc to official Tony Brown: "It ain't just the players. Get your guy together, Tony."
This is gorgeous basketball
This ball hits the ground ONCE in this sequence... Wow.#ThunderUp pic.twitter.com/NDvFvuEpKy

It is rare to see the Thunder display their passing skills, historically Oklahoma City has consistently ranked in the bottom five in passes per game. But, if the Thunder can incorporate more ball movement such as the above and below sequences, it would benefit the entire team.
THAT Adams pass & cut by Grant was simply BEAUTIFUL BBall #ThunderUp

Pat has hops and health
Two dunks for Patrick Patterson in last two games after not having one in his first 86 games for the Thunder.
— Erik Horne (@ErikkHorne) October 31, 2018
Patrick Patterson never seemed healthy last season. Given he didn’t throw down a single dunk punctuates the fact.
Thunder put on a defensive clinic in the third
End of the third quarter: Thunder 93, Clippers 10. Thunder outscores Clippers 39-10 in the third.

Clippers didn't shoot a free throw in third quarter after shooting 24 in first half.
The Thunder have played inside Chesapeake Energy Arena for over a decade now, the third quarter OKC stung together against the Clippers on October 30, 2018, could very well be their best ever. Every play was executed with precision, the defense was sharp, and the atmosphere raucous.

Was it dirty or was it not dirty?
Russell Westbrook is fired up after Patrick Beverley dived after the ball into RW's legs late - eerily similar to the 2013 playoffs. Westbrook lingered around the Clippers bench upset. Former Thunder assistant Rex Kalamian had to calm him down a little. Techs for RW and Beverley.
— Erik Horne (@ErikkHorne) October 31, 2018
First of all, it’s no secret Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley have bad blood between one another. Therefore, each time the two players meet it’s sure to elicit a heated exchange.
From the angle I witnessed the play unfold from inside the arena, I immediately said that is a flagrant foul. But, it is hard to catch fouls in-person vs. watching the game on television, which makes the NBA officials job more understandable.
However, this play was instantly deemed worthy of a flagrant foul, it is a bit puzzling why the officials needed to review it before even calling a flagrant foul. While the play was under review tempers flared between both teams and Oklahoma City Police were used to de-escalate the scuffle.
Beverley keeps the feud going as much as the fans
Patrick Beverley to an OKC fan booing him: “It’s seven years ago, bro. Let it go.”

Listen to PG Oklahoma City
"Thunder Basketball at its finest. The crowd was really rallying behind every stop we had. We play for that energy right there."

Former University of Oklahoma football head coach Bob Stoops once told Sooner fans they needed to be loud because the team needed their energy. The same is true in basketball. The Thunder have one of the best crowds in the NBA, but there are times the crowd is just as lackadaisical as the team.
In the third quarter just like the team, the crowd was locked in. For the Thunder to be elite inside the Peake their savage fans in the stands are just as important as consistent play.
