The OKC Thunder just beat the pants off the New York Knicks. Matty Mulls is on recap duty for the Topic:Thunder crew tonight.

What. A. Game. It wasn’t close, but that’s exactly what we OKC Thunder fans expected. Even with Russell Westbrook sidelined (although he looked ready to go in pregame), the team donned the sweet new Native American-inspired “City” jerseys and looked incredible.

Paul George looked every bit the superstar we know him to be as he dropped 35 points on 13-22 shooting (5-11 from 3), adding seven boards, five dimes, two steals, and a block. Honestly, our starters all looked good tonight. Here are their +/- breakdowns:

More from Thunderous Intentions

Dennis Schroder – +30 (!!!)
Terrance Ferguson – +16
Paul George – +17
Jerami Grant – +9
Steven Adams – +25 (!!!)

As the first one off the bench when Grant picked up his 2nd foul with 6:48 left in the quarter, Patrick Patterson was even a +22! Dennis “The Schredder Menace” Schröder had 15 points, 12 assists (6 in the first quarter), and four rebounds. Adams pitched in with 19 points (looked VERY comfortable on offense), seven boards, and five assists (WHAT?!).

As a team, OKC moved the ball well (32 assists on 51 made shots, 63 percent) and shot the ball well (51 of 95 from the field, 54 percent, and 16 of 33 from deep, 49 percent). They even made 10-12 free throws tonight, at a clip of 83 percent. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come!
