Week four of power ranking lists witness the OKC Thunder continued ladder ascent. And, with a full month of games to reflect on TI offers our top 10 ranking.

The OKC Thunder played four games in week four amassing three wins and a loss that ended their seven game win streak. In spite of the loss to Dallas, the pundits rewarded the Thunder for another strong week. And hey, if we peek ahead to week five the loss to the Mavericks isn’t quite so disheartening given how well Dallas is playing. Hint: expect Dallas to take a big jump up the ladder next week as they’ve won five of six including victories over the Jazz and Warriors.

With a full month of play logged usually this is the stage where power rankings settle in with fewer shifts up and down the ladder. But, with so many projected elite teams struggling out of the gate it might translate in more jostling than usual. Case in point, teams like Houston and Philadelphia who started off slowly are gaining ground.

Likewise, how will copious losses by the top tier squads affect their positioning (Raptors, Warriors, Nuggets)? It’s safe to assume power rankings will continue to be fluid and may take longer than the typical 20 game mark when weekly shifts are minor.

Week four witnessed arguably the best performances to date by the OKC Thunder with critical wins over the Pelicans and Rockets as well as a clinical win over the Cavaliers. The loss to the Mavericks while not ideal can be excused as ‘one of those nights’ as the Thunder seven game win streak came to an end.

Pundits ranked the OKC Thunder from a high of 6th to a low of 13th. Prior to going through those lists I offer my top 10 through the first month of the season.
