Golden State Warriors:

When will everyone figure out the true star of this championship team is Stephen Curry? His absence in the lineup equals a stalled Warriors offense. It shouldn’t be as much of a factor as it is given the other floor spacers. So, what is the real issue? Perhaps it’s as simple as Curry ensures the ball movement whereas in his absence our friend Kevin Durant regresses back to his natural propensity to play iso-ball.

I’ll save the other dramatics for week five, but suffice to say OKC Thunder fans are all too familiar with this routine having witnessed something similar three seasons ago. Funny how the same fans who told Thunder fans to suck it up when KD pulled this same nonsense are now freaking out they could lose him in free agency. As of this moment, I’d say the odds of KD exiting Oakland at season end are leaning more to the yes side of the equation. Sorry Warriors fans – but you’ll be hard pressed to find much empathy here.

The Warriors despite a low defensive ranking are performing where it matters in the field goal efficiency on both sides of the court. (hint: you’ll notice a massive drop offensively in week 5 offensively – again without Steph the Warriors offense struggles).

Factors:

Offensive Rating: 1st
Defensive Rating: 16th
Net Differential: 2nd
Offensive field goal efficiency: 51.9 percent
Opponent field goal efficiency:  44.8 percent
Win/Loss: Wins versus Grizzlies and Nets, bad loss to Bucks.
Record: 11-2
Injuries: Steph injured his groin during the Bucks game and has been out since.
