OKC Thunder player grades: failure to execute early costs at the end
Like Grant, the opening track race proved slightly tough for Diallo who allowed a bit too much space on his covers. Offensively, he was definitely more aggressive and that was reflected in his 5 of 5 field efficiency at the half. As the game progressed he settled in allowing the game to come to him.
He executed a perfect score maintaining his balance despite being pushed around the 6:00 mark of the third quarter and continued his perfect night hitting yet another 3-pointer in the frame. By game end, Diallo exited with unsullied efficiency scoring 18 points on a perfect seven shots. Diallo was 2 of 2 from deep, 2 of 2 from the line, adding a rebound, assist and two steals.
Any question regarding playing Diallo more minutes was assuaged tonight. Even if you’re of the opinion Ferguson is a better defender (questionable), you can’t deny the offense and consistent energy Diallo brings to the starting unit.
