Deonte Burton is a keeper

Sam Presti kind of has a thing for long athletes who could become versatile weapons down the road but only occasionally ever do. Deonte’ Burton, however, could be a different case.

Only a few months removed from tearing up Summer League and earning himself a two-way contract with the Thunder, he’s already starting to pay dividends for the organization.

Burton had 11 points shooting 4 of 8 from the field combined with two boards and two assists–which is one more than two rotational Thunder point guards (Schroder and Raymond Felton) had.

He was a dominant force on both ends at times tonight and had a vicious dunk on rookie, Miles Bridges, to boot:

Almost no one else on OKC’s bench has proved to be dependable this year, but Burton might be the guy to fill that role.
