OKC Thunder youngsters key in defeat of Hornets: 3 takeaways

In Closing:
All jokes aside, this was a really solid win for the OKC Thunder. Lately, they’ve had some troubles closing out games and winning when everything gets a little bit tighter. Therefore, it’s a good sign OKC found a way to win even though they clearly started falling apart in the fourth quarter.

Obviously, preventing collapses like that is still something that the team is going to have to work on throughout this year, but them hanging on was a nice starting point.
Furthermore, as I mentioned previously, the play of some of the young guys was an encouraging bright spot.
Even with Paul George playing well below the level he’s capable of hitting tonight, the young guys stepped up and helped the Thunder push through.
In all likelihood, it’s not going to be that sustainable but those kinds of contributions are vital to a team devoid of much supporting talent.
