Grades: OKC Thunder come out flat in loss to Nuggets

Russell Westbrook had his worst game of the season. The star point guard posted a triple-double, turning in 16 points, ten rebounds, and 12 assists. The former MVP went 6-for-23 from the field and made only one of his 12 perimeter attempts. Westbrook also had five fouls called against him and turned the ball over four times. He struggled at the line going three for seven from the charity stripe.
Russell Westbrook did not seem to handle this poor performance well. As seen in the next two tweets.
As Brady points out, it is cool to see the former MVP still putting in such work and effort, which should never be questioned.
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot has had a nice week filling in for guys, but tonight in the starting lineup he did not get the job done. TLC scored just three points on 1-for-6 shooting from the field (1-for-4 from three). Defensively, the wing blocked a shot while also collecting a steal on that end. TLC was a negative ten tonight. Luwawu-Cabarrot got five rebounds as well. He looked out of sorts for most of his 20 minutes on the floor.
Paul George led the team in minutes and points tonight. Pouring in 24 points on 38-percent shooting from the floor, and 50-percent from 3-point land, he also pulled down eleven rebounds. Defensively George swatted three shots and got a pair of steals. The only dark cloud comes with his foul trouble. PG13 was called for five fouls.
From the free throw line, George shot 71-percent only to be outdone by Dennis Schroder who went a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe.
Jerami Grant played really well against the Nuggets, including a huge dunk over Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic. Grant scored 13 points on 45 percent shooting from the floor. Grant has been surprisingly good (by his standards) from deep this year. That continued tonight when he drained two of his five attempts. Grant blocked a shot and grabbed a pair of defensive rebounds on that end of the floor. Like most of the Thunder starters, Grant got into foul trouble, picking up five personals in this contest.
Jerami was also one of the only Thunder players with a positive plus/minus turning in a plus two on the night.
Like the rest of the OKC Thunder team, Adams struggled in the first half. He would even tell you that himself. Warning – there is NFSW language in the clip below.
In the second half, Adams got on track and finished with a double-double. Adams scored 12 points and hauled down 14 rebounds with a steal to his credit.
