- Should the OKC Thunder chase after a disgruntled hometown hero?
- 3 OKC Thunder players who can step up in Aleksej Pokusevski’s absence
- Aleksej Pokusevski sidelined approximately 6 weeks with ankle injury
- Damian Lillard does not fit with the OKC Thunder
The Thunder’s best bench player was Dennis Schroder tonight, and while he played well, no one else on the bench did. Schroder spent the game prior against the Hornets in the starting lineup, and it worked to perfection.
Donovan did a great job staggering Schroder and Westbrook while also being able to start the game fast with his best players on the floor.
With Hamidou Diallo and Terrance Ferguson, both sidelined at least for 7-to-10 days each, I think Donovan will continue to utilize Schroder in the starting lineup as he did on Friday against the Hornets.
Tonight against the Nuggets, Schroder posted 18 points, on 35 percent shooting with two rebounds and a pair of assists. Dennis was a plus four against the Nuggets and turned the ball over twice.
Best Opponent:
Jamal Murray had a great game for the Nuggets without his backcourt mate Gary Harris who was out tonight. Murray played 39 minutes and was a plus four. He scored 22 points leading the Nuggets in scoring. He shot 39 percent from the floor and 33 percent from three. Scoring was not the only aspect of his game, as Murray grabbed eight rebounds and handed out eight dimes.
Final Thoughts
The OKC Thunder ran into a scheduled loss, but it still does not sit well with fans which is understandable. But hey, look on the bright side, we got to see the Thunder in their amazing new uniforms again.
