The lethargic OKC Thunder lose by seven to the Nuggets, but the game was never really that close. The Topic: Thunder podcast crew break it down.
The OKC Thunder lost 105-98 to the Denver Nuggets, and it wasn’t really that close.
While OKC managed to pull within shouting distance of Denver by the end, there were really only a few moments when the game was ever in doubt – and even fewer of them in the second half. The lead was down to five multiple times in the fourth quarter, but that ever-elusive, and ever-needed stop was just never there, as Nikola Jokic shot floater after floater, sinking the OKC Thunder.

Russell Westbrook had a bad game. Thus far in the season, the entire team has bought into Billy Donovan’s plan, Russ included. But tonight, that seemed to go out the window, as illustrated by Russ’s 1-12 from three. Or maybe the Nuggets shot it out the window. Either way, out the window it went.
The Thunder have a chance to bounce back as, after having played five games in eight nights, OKC only has two games in all of next week. And they’re both at home. And they’re against the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks.
Not that The Thunder have gotten wrong, having won 12 of their last 15, but this is still a chance for a banged up team to get right. I’m Stephen Dolan, and I’m on the recap for Topic: Thunder tonight, with locker room audio of Steven Adams courtesy of Alex Roig.
