OKC Thunder player grades – start east road trip with oust of Detroit
The best player on the floor was Steven Adams who gave Andre Drummond fits. The Pistons will be having nightmares over missed pick and roll assignments and likely hear a New Zealand accent haunting them for ages.
He was everywhere he needed to be and the box score doesn’t even do justice to what he delivered on this evening. I mean he scored 21 points and only took EIGHT shots – which of course was augmented by his seven trips to the line. Not sure if the Reggie Jackson angst fueled the big Kiwi but he was perfect from the line (7-7) and missed just one field goal (7-8). It almost felt like the Thunder could have capitalized even more with the Russ-Kiwi PNR it was that unstoppable.
Adams added a surprisingly low six rebounds (2 offensive) which seem low for how often he kept Drummond or Griffin off the boards.
