The OKC Thunder overcame a 23-point deficit to defeat the Brooklyn Nets 114-112. TI presents three takeaways from the game.

In a remarkable turn of events, the OKC Thunder overcame its largest regular season deficit in franchise history to record a 114-112 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

While it was entertaining, it was also a one-way ticket to a potential heart attack.

Through three quarters Oklahoma City made EVERY possible mistake. Defensive rotations were poor, they turned the ball over needlessly, were fouling 3-point shooters at an incredible rate and seemingly decided the Nets deserved ample And-1 opportunities. After a 30-point drubbing of the Pistons in Detroit, OKC was frustratingly bad and performing some of the lowest IQ plays in basketball.

Then the fourth quarter arrived and Paul George went absolutely crazy.

Scoring 25 of his 47 points in the fourth quarter, PG13 shot 9-12 from the field, 4-6 from three and 3-5 from the line. While his counting stats were absolutely insane, the most impressive part was the bevy of ways PG was scoring. Free throws, 3-point shots, an And-1 drive, alley-oop dunk, fast break lay-in, a euro-step lay-up and a tough flip shot over shot blocking big man Jarret Allen. It was absolutely sensational.

Relive PG’s fourth quarter.

Not to be outdone, Russell Westbrook was undercover great and passed Jason Kidd on the triple double list. The Brodie posted 21 points, 17 rebounds and 15 assists to register his 108th career triple double. He didn’t have the greatest night shooting the ball, making just 9 of his 23 shots including 2 of 9 from three but he only turned the ball over two times the entire game.

While this game certainly had PG13’s mark all over it, he and Russ needed everyone to play their part in the comeback. Lets take a look at three takeaways from the game.
